hot dog, it works again!

this is from a few weeks ago when we went to dave and buster's for parrish's birthday. beth, james and i had our fortunes told by this here lady. i don't think she knows all that much, but at least she tries...

i think whatever is wrong with my blog has something to do with posting photographs...i don't know how that would affect it, but for some reason i can't post photos of any sort on any of my blogs...strange. i hope this gets fixed soon...

since my all-purpose blog is unviewable and this one isn't, i suppose i will use this until the other is up again. i think that having some sort of consistent outlet for at least a few of my thoughts is a healthy habit and for that reason, i have missed my blog the past few days.

it is kind of funny that i am posting on here but can't even post photographs if i wanted to. i have been feeling rather discouraged about my photography over the past few weeks. it seems silly to even call it "my photography." yesterday we drove down 19 to go to drum world and while i saw so many things i would have loved to photograph, i felt like even i had brought my camera with me, it wouldn't be worth it to even try. but it is rather boring to be hopeless and i need to remind myself that photography is something to do for fun, and usually, i do have fun doing it. so with that mindset, i move on...

i actually enjoyed myself at drum world yesterday. it's fun to learn about things that i had no prior knowledge or interest in. i learned about who makes a good set and different types of snare drums. and that drums are very expensive! i wish i had a better sense of rhythm and some hand eye coordination; i think it might be fun to have jay to teach me a bit.

last night was the first night i got good sleep for a while. i have been enjoying myself though, having people over and staying up late. as long as i get a few good chunks of alone time a week, i am happy to be around people most of the time, which is very different from how i was feeling a year or so ago. most of the time, i forget how depressed i was in the past few years. i feel a thousand times better now and it's hard to imagine feeling like that again. but i should never forget that it will always be a possibiltiy.

we played darts last night at this crappy bar near the driving range. it was suprisingly really fun and i actually won a game! they have free wings on wednesday...i think we may have to go back!
